The Oldest and Largest Not-For-Profit Legal Services Provider in the USA selects the TutorPro LMS, TutorPro eLearning, and TutorPro’s Live Content Studio. The Legal Aid Society in New York City, founded in 1876, is the oldest and largest not-for-profit legal services provider in the United States.
Today, The Legal Aid Society has over 2,000 employees, over 1,160 of whom are attorneys. Each year Legal Aid’s staff handle over 300,000 legal matters annually, focused in three areas: Criminal Defense, Civil Law, and Juvenile Rights. Legal Aid remains committed to one central belief, “that no New Yorker should be denied access to justice because of poverty.”
TutorPro was asked to supply an LMS to enhance The Legal Aid Society’s capacity to provide its staff with access to a comprehensive library of current, high quality training materials. The society’s LMS selection had to fulfill several key requirements. It had to be simple to use for administrators and staff; it had to include a robust CLE module for tracking, reporting, and awarding of CLE credit; and it had to be securely accessible over the internet to authorized users. In addition, it had to magnify the training team's ability to deliver training and CLE without magnifying the cost of doing so.
Said Jean Scott: “Our lawyers use TutorPro for pre-recorded Legal Aid Society trainings, especially trainings for CLE credit. The fact that the courses are available on mobile devices is an added bonus for many of our lawyers who spend a lot of time away from their offices.”
Said Claire Loram, VP Client Success at TutorPro: “TutorPro has been leading the field in legal technology learning for over 25 years, however our record pales in comparison to that of The Legal Aid Society.
When the team at the Society approached us we were only too glad to support them in achieving their incredibly worthy mission of defending those who most need it.”
