Advanced Collaboration Features Now Available for Customization and Integration

Workshare, a leading provider of secure enterprise collaboration applications, today announced it has extended its platform’s advanced file sharing and sync features to the developer community. By leveraging Workshare’s open API, developers can create apps that build on, customize, and integrate with Workshare’s feature set.

To accommodate today’s growing need for mobility, document security and control, and increased workforce productivity, Workshare is opening its market-leading sharing, synchronization, and collaboration features. Customers looking to augment their own back-office systems, websites, or products can choose to leverage Workshare’s features in the cloud so they too can experience:

• Powerful, efficient collaboration: Workshare allows users to share and collaborate on files, maintaining a high level of control beyond the firewall. Users can participate in existing collaborations or create new workflows, making location-tagged comments directly in the context of each page.
• Simple sync: Workshare files and folders are instantly synced between the online platform, Workshare Desktop, and Workshare Mobile. When online, files are always up-to-date with the latest comments and changes made by fellow collaborators.
• Improved security and control: Workshare provides a rich set of security features for managed file transfer, including user authentication, password protection, permissions, time-limited file access, and full audit trails. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit using the highest level of encryption. In addition, Workshare Mobile Apps include mobile data management, ensuring tamper-proof security in case the device is lost or stolen.

The API is available at the Workshare developer hub where developers can review API functions that currently include adding Workshare folders, files, and users as well as setting Workshare permissions. At the hub, developers can map programmatic interfaces to back-office systems or internal documentation before developing, testing, and deploying custom applications.
