Sustained growth of eDiscovery business prompts need for greater storage capacity
Xact Data Discovery (XDD), a leading international provider of discovery and data management services for law firms, corporations and government agencies, announces the completion of significant technology upgrades and expansions to the company’s data center in Richardson, Texas. The new investments support XDD’s continued growth in eDiscovery processing and hosting services.
The expansion includes a substantial increase in storage space to provide a more robust solution and additional space for XDD’s growing Relativity hosting business. The upgrades bring EMC and Hitachi Storage Systems to over 350 terabytes of storage capacity, representing a 100 percent increase in capacity and doubling of performance capability. With the recent upgrades, XDD’s data center remains poised for future growth with its storage systems able to double again as needed.
“The data center upgrades are among our many new investments in both human capital and technology resources to further support XDD’s recent growth and success,” says Xact Data Discovery CEO Robert Polus. He adds, “The updated platforms and additional storage capacity position XDD for continued expansion planned this year and beyond.”
Last month XDD announced it had achieved record growth for fiscal year 2012 and is already exceeding 2013 projections. The company saw its eDiscovery processing and data hosting revenue grow in 2012 by 49 percent and by 58 percent, respectively, compared to 2011. XDD has added nearly 100 new full-time employees in offices nationwide over the past twelve months, more than a quarter of which were discovery consultant or senior management positions. Xact Data Discovery has 15 locations throughout the United States, with new offices expected in the coming months.
