Leading Technology Analyst Cites Innovative Single-Instance Multi-Matter Capabilities and Catalyst's Strategic Partnerships
Catalyst Repository Systems, Inc., a pioneer in cloud-based document repositories for global e-discovery and complex legal matters, today announced that Gartner, one of the world's leading technology research firms, has placed Catalyst in the “Visionaries” quadrant in its 2013 “Magic Quadrant for E-Discovery Software” report, published on June 10, 2013.
Catalyst’s position reflects the company’s ongoing innovations with its technology—in particular the recent launch of its lightening fast, highly scalable, cloud based e-discovery platform Insight and its capabilities of multi-matter repositories, multi-party and multi-language management. These innovations coupled with the pursuit of key strategic partnerships on the left side of the EDRM framework over the last year solidify Catalyst’s standing as a leading vendor covering the entire lifecycle of e-discovery in high volume, complex matters.
“We’re pleased to receive recognition from Gartner as an innovator in a very dynamic industry,” said John Tredennick, president and CEO of Catalyst. “This validates our strategy of continuing to invest in technology that meets the market’s increasing demands for scalability and speed. A lot of people in the industry are talking about the challenges of big data, but Catalyst has actually addressed the problem with Catalyst Insight, our unique XML-based platform that’s designed specifically to handle high-volume matters.”
Gartner’s analysis calls particular attention to Catalyst’s multi-matter, single-instance capabilities, which significantly reduce duplicate storage and review costs where clients have multiple cases involving the same data. With this capability, documents can be stored in a single repository and linked to one or more cases for review and production. Clients have the ability to organize and track reviews across multiple matters to see how documents are used and produced—all from the central repository.
In addition to highlighting Catalyst Insight’s ability to combine metadata and text into a unified searchable data repository, the Gartner report points to a number of additional strengths among the company’s technology offerings, including OnRamp, Catalyst’s enterprise connector for automated loading of raw or processed files into Insight, and Insight Predict, a predictive ranking application using advanced mathematics to rank large document sets. Insight Predict has proven to be particularly effective for the Chinese, Japanese and Korean (CJK) markets.
Gartner also gave Catalyst high marks for its project management skills, technical expertise and responsiveness, as well as for its growth of more than 20% in the last year.
