LexisNexis and Janders Dean invite legal professionals and organisations to submit entries for industry awards
The 2018 Legal Innovation Index is now open for entry, inviting pioneering firms and legal teams across Australia and New Zealand to submit their game-changing innovations.
The Index was launched in 2013 by Janders Dean, in partnership with LexisNexis, seeking to identify individuals and organisations across Australia and New Zealand that differentiate themselves from their peers by exemplifying innovation. Now in its sixth year, the Index recognises innovative individuals and organisations who seek to move the needle by doing things differently.
“Since the inception of this Index, we have been proud to see some outstanding innovations being rolled out by legal firms, in-house counsels and individual innovators. The Index is really about recognising innovation in all its forms and appreciating that innovation encompasses so much more than technological advancement,” explains Simon Wilkins, General Manager, LexisNexis Australia.
“Over the last six years we have seen a huge breadth of innovation from both the individuals and organisations who have entered the Index. Their ideas and projects have gone on to positively impact the industry as a whole and this year we are excited to see how the growing focus on curiosity and creativity has benefited the legal industry.”
In 2018 the Index will be judged by a standout panel of key industry figures – among them past winners of the Index.
The 2018 judging panel includes:
The APAC Innovation Index has never been about innovation through technology alone. Together with LexisNexis, Janders Dean has deliberately sought to recognise firms that are seeking to innovate through their culture, their leadership, their client relationships, their people and their process of ideation and action.
In 2018, the legal industry has already seen an unprecedented rise in the recruitment and promotion of innovation roles both in private practice law firms and the in-house legal community. As more firms attempt to define and action their innovation programmes, it is clear that serious attention and investment is being placed on the active promotion of a ‘culture of curiosity’ across the legal industry.
Justin North, Founder, Janders Dean, said “It is both exciting and heart-warming that the industry is now heading in the direction we had hoped for and envisaged more than five years ago when we developed the concept of the APAC Innovation Index in collaboration with LexisNexis.
“Firms are now not only empowering their employees to come up with new ideas and improvements to the way in which legal services and products are delivered, but they are also finally beginning to look beyond legal for their ideas.
“Witnessing different types of organisations and people push the envelope to change the way in which legal services and products are delivered and disrupt the industry for the better, is a sign we are headed in the right direction. This is sure to be reflected in the most diverse and exciting Legal Innovation Index yet,” concluded Justin.
