Marcus Weinberger (15) demonstrates vulnerabilities of law firms live on stage
Lexpo, Continental Europe’s most prestigious legal innovation event, today announced the youngest speaker ever: Marcus Weinberger. Marcus (15 years) is an ethical hacker who, in his spare time, enjoys finding vulnerabilities in technology.
Despite his young age, he has achieved a level of knowledge, skill, and understanding that enables him to execute sophisticated penetration testing, security assessments, and audits. And that’s exactly what he will be doing at Lexpo’19: showing how very easy it is to compromise all sorts of security measures taken by law firms to safeguard their data and clients.
Marcus Weinberger: “It's scary knowing how easy it is to exploit common vulnerabilities, and how often they are found. Many attacks I will show involve WiFi - they usually succeed.”
Earlier this year, Marcus featured at the LegalSEC summit 2018, organised by the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA). Because that session was such a huge success, ILTA asked Marcus to do a similar presentation at ILTACON, the annual educational conference of ILTA.
Rob Ameerun, organiser of Lexpo, commented: “it was amazing to see how a fifteen-year-old showed a crowd of seasoned legal professionals how easy it is to have your data compromised and hence to see your reputation go down the drain. It was a real eye-opener and I’m positive Marcus will open many eyes again at Lexpo’19!”
Just like the previous three editions of Lexpo, visitors can expect the world’s best speakers. In addition to the keynotes, panel discussions and Q&A sessions, Lexpo’19 will feature new session formats:
Marcus Weinberger added: “It’s a real honor to be invited to speak at such a significant event. I’m really excited to visit Amsterdam and share my knowledge.”
Lexpo'19 will take place in Amsterdam on 8 and 9 April 2019. Ticket sales will start at the end of November. Want to stay up to date? Join the Lexpo'19 newsletter.
