smartvokat and iTSM Group establish Joint Venture for LegalOps solutions based on ServiceNow’s digital workflows

The international consulting group iTSM Group and legal innovation startup smartvokat have established a Joint Venture (JV) for Legal Operations solutions based on ServiceNow’s market-leading Now Platform. The JV will operate under the name “smartvokat Trusted Quality”.   

Unstructured interactions between members of legal and compliance departments and employees of other business functions, missing self-service offerings for simple enquiries and feedback, no real-time dashboard monitoring all requests – just a small number of examples resembling the daily challenges of corporate counsel. The Legal Management Platform offered by  smartvokat Trusted Quality under the brand “Inspiring Legal” addresses German and international corporate legal and compliance departments who are looking for a consistent, efficient, transparent, legally-compliant and scalable digital platform for all legal, compliance and regulatory processes and a new legal user experience. The JV originates from the collaboration of both JV partners in the current global implementation of a ServiceNow-based Legal Management Platform for listed multinational Bayer AG.  

Cross-disciplinary approach, multi-disciplinary team 

A cross-disciplinary approach with a multidisciplinary team comprising lawyers, software engineers, legal management consultants, ServiceNow specialists and UX designers enables a tailored symbiosis of legal expertise, technical-professional know how and implementation competencies. Ignaz Füsgen, Co-Managing Director of the JV and at smartvokat, emphasises: „The longstanding ServiceNow experience of iTSM Group as a ServiceNow-Elite Partner is complemented by smartvokat’s highly specialised legal process management experience and own implementation methodologies for legal tech projects, such as the Legal Tech Translator and Content vs. Code.“ 

An End-to-End Portfolio meeting and accompanying clients where they are 

The JV offers a holistic end-to-end portfolio ranging from advisory services on legal service portfolio management, services catalogues and single process flows (use cases,  developed on the basis of design thinking and legal design), business case development, Legal Project Management (LPM), ServiceNow customising and software engineering (including nearshore teams in Romania) to application management and support. A total of 120 own advisors are available to the JV.
