Law firm Pestalozzi implements document management system WorkSite with I.R.I.S.

I.R.I.S. – specialized in Intelligent Document Recognition (IDR), Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and complex infrastructure for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) – has implemented Autonomy’s iManage WorkSite at Swiss law firm Pestalozzi, allowing its staff and lawyers to organize their files better and use advanced search capabilities.

Pestalozzi supports international and domestic clients in all aspects of Swiss law from its offices in Zurich and Geneva. The firm employs over 100 people, including 80 lawyers. Urs Kloeti, managing partner at Pestalozzi, explains why the employees at Pestalozzi felt they needed a document management system: “We actually had two goals in mind. One was to be able to control the available data in a more efficient way, the other was to benefit from advanced search capabilities.” 

Kloeti believes the firm is in better control of data since WorkSite was implemented. “It is possible to control and handle security better: we can easily grant the right people access to the files they need. Further, thanks to the tracking abilities of the system, people feel more comfortable with data and fewer documents get printed out.” 

Additionally, Pestalozzi chose to install two I.R.I.S. products: the I.R.I.S. Trash Bin which ensures that (accidentally) deleted documents remain saved, and the OCR converter which automatically converts images and PDF files into editable, searchable files.

Kloeti comments: “As a result of our better control and our more efficient way of working, our clients benefit from it, too.”

Before choosing WorkSite, Pestalozzi looked at several document management systems. Kloeti adds: “What we specifically liked about WorkSite was the fact that it operates very close to the way we were already used to working. Another decisive factor was that WorkSite is specifically designed to suit the specific needs of law firms, much more so than other document management systems we looked at.” 

Kloeti is very satisfied with I.R.I.S. as an implementation partner. He comments: “The people at I.R.I.S. are knowledgeable and extremely helpful.
