NetDocuments, the #1 trusted cloud platform for law firms, corporate legal teams and business organisations, today announced that Lawfront has selected NetDocuments as its chosen document management system (DMS). Lawfront provides legal services to individuals and businesses through leading regional law firms: Farleys, Fisher Jones Greenwood, Nelsons, and Slater Heelis, supported by a highly experienced central team.
As the group looks to build a single technology platform, NetDocuments will act as Lawfront’s central cloud-based repository for accessing and managing documents. With an intelligent DMS, providing leading-edge legal AI capabilities, Lawfront will transform its user experience to drive enhanced productivity and client service through its regional firms.
Backed by private equity fund Blixt, Lawfront’s vision is to build a high-quality, national business, dedicated to its people and retaining the finest in the profession to provide the very best service to clients. Specialising in legal services for individuals, including employment and wealth management, as well as business services in areas such as commercial disputes and intellectual property, Lawfront currently employs 800 lawyers and legal professionals working across 28 offices.
As Lawfront had rapidly grown through acquisition, it wanted to consolidate its document management systems, to reduce IT management costs, enhance the user experience and drive a more consistent way of working across the group. After a thorough market evaluation, Lawfront selected NetDocuments as its single-cloud based DMS, due to its ease-of use, extensive integrations and native AI capabilities. Using NetDocuments, the Lawfront team will be able to securely collaborate on documents from any device or location. Furthermore, they can access AI tools to help drive efficiency, productivity and accuracy.
More than 35 million documents will be migrated to NetDocuments from the four separate legacy systems as part of a phased implementation. Certified NetDocuments partner Accesspoint will be managing the implementation, with the first go-live at Fisher Jones Greenwood expected in April 2025.
Peter Carr, Head of Digital Applications at Lawfront, commented: "NetDocuments was the clear choice for document management across our four law firms. Having a single cloud DMS is a key part of our technology roadmap, so NetDocuments’ future proof platform and open API were really attractive to us. We’re also excited about harnessing the latest legal AI capabilities without having to integrate solutions from multiple vendors. Ultimately, this enhanced environment will allow our lawyers to firmly focus on delivering exceptional client service."
“We’re pleased to be playing a key role in supporting Lawfront’s technology transformation as it looks to deliver a more consistent employee and client experience,” said Kerri Dearing, VP of International Business at NetDocuments. "Through having one single intelligent DMS supporting its separate firms, its lawyers will have access to the documents management and legal AI capabilities they need to do their best work.”
