Appurity, a specialist in app and endpoint device security, delivery, and management, today announced details of infrastructure upgrade for Lanyon Bowdler LLP, a full-service law firm that supports clients in a range of industries, and serves many rural communities including farms and agricultural businesses.
After a consultative process, Appurity designed an upgrade of the firm’s mobile and application strategy and delivered a bespoke suite of technologies that bolstered defences against breaches and kept client data protected.
The team at Lanyon Bowdler needed to upgrade their on-premise BlackBerry UEM environment. The firm also needed to support several applications that they could manage and monitor internally through Managed Google Play integration for Android Enterprise, which would allow the firm to provide apps to its users within the work perimeter only. The firm would then need to migrate users and devices to their upgraded UEM server, which required replacing a number of Android and iOS devices to bring them in line with newer OS versions and security requirements, as outlined by frameworks such as Cyber Essentials Plus. Crucially, this solution needed to be delivered at an affordable cost, with minimal disruption to the firm’s lawyers and other employees.
After working previously together, and with expertise and experience of supporting law firms across the UK, Appurity were selected to design and deliver a bespoke solution for Lanyon Bowdler. This included an on-premise UEM infrastructure refresh, a full device upgrade and migration, and deployment of Appurity’s Gold Build Standard. New technologies - Lookout for Work, Samsung Knox E-FOTA and Nine Work for Android and Rubus - were deployed too.
The upgrade has completely transformed the firm’s approach to mobile and app security. BlackBerry UEM has delivered enhanced security for Lanyon Bowdler, providing the firm with complete control and security over all their endpoints. With E-FOTA, Lanyon Bowdler keeps its entire fleet of mobile devices current by seamlessly deploying OS updates that don’t require user interaction. By making it simpler for the firm to roll out these updates, it ensures all devices are running the latest and most secure OS.
Robin Thain, IT Manager, Lanyon Bowdler said: “As a legal firm, protecting client data is our priority. When looking to refresh our estate, we knew that we needed a solution which offered us the best protection against cyber threats and data breaches. Appurity understood these security requirements instantly, even able to recommend the right products to keep us compliant with data protection standards and regulations.
“We’ve relied on Appurity to help upgrade and manage our estate in the past to great success, and this upgrade has been the same.
